Het mooiste aan minimalistische sieraden

The best thing about minimalist jewelry

When I was a little girl, I was mainly attracted to the classic models with pearls, diamonds and gold when it came to jewellery. But over time, my style and taste have changed. Now I appreciate the design and strength of the design, rather than the number of diamonds incorporated into a piece of jewellery. The shape is more important than the material. And that is exactly what makes minimalist jewellery so beautiful: with few extras you have a beautiful earring, bracelet, ring or necklace. Do you want that too?

My inspiration for your minimalist jewelry

For years I have been standing in front of the windows of jewelers and jewelry stores. Dreaming away about all the beautiful things that are there... I also collect images from magazines if they show anything of simple or minimalist design. These images are a good inspiration for your minimalist jewelry.

Of course, such a mountain of images alone is not enough. I weave them together or make collages of them. Constantly rearranging until the right combination of shapes and images is in front of me. These combinations are the basis for the bracelets, necklaces, rings or earrings that I design.

I also work with the art of combining and especially: leaving out the jewelry I make for CLIC by Suzanne. After all, minimalist jewelry is beautiful because of its simplicity. With as little shape as possible, I try to create as much beauty as possible. As a result, I have already made many customers happy with timeless designs. Timeless, because such a minimalist design never gets old due to its distinctive design. As a result, you will enjoy our designer jewelry for years to come.

(inter)national top designers also opt for simplicity

Even at the famous trade fair for jewellery products and designs, I see more and more minimalist jewellery. These are often designed and exhibited by German and Northern European designers. Often these jewellery pieces are unique designs up to museum level. In this case, the focus is not on wearability, but on simplicity of design. Fortunately, CLIC is all about both!

The Netherlands also has a rich culture of minimalist design jewelry. This is mainly due to the pioneers Gijs Bakker and Emmy van Leersum, who started experimenting with minimalist jewelry from the 1960s onwards. Their designs are still relevant today and have had a great influence on later designers, including myself.

Simple, timeless jewelry at CLIC by Suzanne

At CLIC we work with lightweight aluminum, so you can always wear our minimalist jewelry comfortably. Good news for everyone with a nickel allergy: our aluminum is nickel-free.

What appeals to the imagination of me and many of our customers? That with some straight lines, a corner in the right place, a smooth transition and an arc, curve or circle there, you can create a very beautiful, timeless design. And yet it is about just that right composition and the right ratio between too much and too little that ensures that a minimalistic piece of jewelry becomes timeless.
